In this inspiring environment, internationally high-quality research takes place with great significance. Among our core competencies are pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics, in vitro ADME models, advanced in vivo methods, modeling and simulation, biological drugs, as well as patient-related and societal aspects ranging from individual drug use to pharmaceutical policy. Our scientific focus areas (selected) Pharmacokinetics & Pharmacodynamics • Pharmacometrics • Clinical Pharmacy • Advanced Drug Formulation • Molecular Galenic Pharmacy • Biological Drugs • Pharmacoepidemiology • Social Pharmacy More information www.farmaci.uu.se Project: Biomarkers for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Duties: The project encompasses research on biomarkers for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), with particular focus on neurofilament light chain (NfL) in serum and the role of barriers in the central and peripheral nervous system in the development of CIPN. The data generated experimentally will be used for pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling as a translational tool to characterize the relationship between exposure to cytostatic drugs in plasma and in CIPN-relevant tissues as well as biomarkers in serum. The study encompasses several microtubule-inhibiting drugs as well as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Qualifications: The applicant should have a degree in pharmacy, medicine, engineering/natural sciences or a related field. Applicants should have documented experience with animal studies in chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), drug bioanalysis with UPLC-MS/MS, bioanalysis of NfL, and pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling and simulation. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, motivation, and interest in research aimed at improving safety in treatment with cytostatic drugs. The applicant should be able to express themselves well, both orally and in writing, in English. Applicants should be able to work independently and in groups. Meritorious: Good understanding of the structure and function of barriers in the central and peripheral nervous system. Basic knowledge of pharmacokinetics of antibody-drug conjugates. Practical experience with analysis and modeling of pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic data. Interest in and good ability to write scientific texts in English is meritorious.
