Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in chemistry. The department has 270 employees and an annual turnover of 300 million SEK. The department's six programs conduct highly successful research of international caliber. Job Responsibilities: Development of new liquid electrolytes for sodium-ion batteries. Testing of electrolyte physical properties. Electrochemical testing of model systems for sodium-ion batteries to investigate SEI layer properties. Construction, cycling, and characterization of commercial sodium-ion batteries. Plan and organize projects independently, including analysis of results and communication with academic collaborators. Qualification Requirements: For this position, we require: Master's degree in materials science or equivalent. Previous experience with sodium-ion battery cells, electrochemical cycling methods (cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic cycling), and general battery assembly (manufacturing of pouch and coin cells and preparation of electrolytes). Experience with materials characterization (e.g., XRD). Previous experience with physical characterization of liquid electrolytes. Very strong ability to communicate orally and in writing, document data, and present results. Very good command of English, both spoken and written. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate results to academic collaborators. Very good collaborative skills and interpersonal competence, and willingness to work as part of a larger research group. Great weight will also be placed on personal suitability. Consideration will be given to good collaborative skills, initiative and independence, as well as how the applicant through their experience and competence is assessed to complement and strengthen research within the department/institution and contribute to its future development.
