This is a fixed-term position starting September 1, or by agreement, through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension. The position is 50-100%, by agreement. The department conducts education and research in industrial economics, industrial design, and mechanical engineering. A common starting point for the activities is to develop knowledge about industrial systems, organizations, processes, flows, and products with consideration for social, economic, and ecological sustainability. The department has strong connections to the surrounding community, and students, teachers, and researchers work in close collaboration with industry and authorities. Work Tasks As a Research Assistant in Industrial Economics, you will dedicate your working time to supporting the ongoing research project "Climate Assessment and Business Models for Sustainable Food Systems" (SHIFT) https://www.hig.se/shift. Your work tasks include literature reviews, data collection and analysis, as well as compilation and reporting of research results. Your workplace is at University of Gävle. Work can, by agreement with the employer, be performed both on campus and remotely. Qualifications To be employed as a Research Assistant, we want you to have a Master's degree in Industrial Economics or another subject that the employer considers equivalent. You have subject specialization in organizational sustainability, or another subject specialization that the employer considers relevant for the SHIFT project. In addition, you should have: Good ability to work independently and take own initiatives. Good ability to collaborate and build good relationships internally and externally. Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. It is meritorious if you have: Experience with case studies and qualitative analysis Experience with food systems Experience with environmental systems analysis, including life cycle assessment You must have your Master's degree by the start of employment.
