The Faculty of Law at Uppsala University is Northern Europe's oldest law faculty and was established when the university was founded in 1477. The faculty offers comprehensive and highly regarded undergraduate and graduate education. The Faculty of Law employs approximately 200 people.
Job Responsibilities
As a research assistant, you will support researchers on two projects: one concerning consumer and data rights aspects of public smart and bidirectional charging, and one addressing data protection and AI regulation with a focus on rare diseases. You will maintain ongoing contact with the project leaders for the legal component, Associate Professor Santa Slokenberga and University Lecturer Andreas Kotsios, and assist them in legal research work and project administration. This includes responsibility for supporting the project by conducting thorough legal analyses of legislation, case law, and other legal documents. You will also help prepare relevant legal documents, submissions, reports, and scientific articles, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date. Since the projects are interdisciplinary, you will also support work on research design and analysis of the empirical components conducted by other team members.
Qualifications
You hold a bachelor's degree in law. You must have documented experience in research work focusing on EU consumer, AI, data, and data protection law. You should also have very good understanding of the technology itself (e.g., digital solutions development) as well as good understanding of socio-legal (empirical) studies. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
As a candidate, you should be collaborative and comfortable working both independently and in larger interdisciplinary project teams. We place great emphasis on personal suitability such as flexibility, problem-solving ability, and quality awareness. Initiative and a structured work approach are important for this position.
Desirable/Meriting Qualifications
