Researcher in Military Science with Focus on Defense Logistics and Supply Chains

The position is located at the Department of Functions and Perspectives at the Department of Military Science in Stockholm. Description of the Research Project The employment is time-limited and covers a subset of a project within defense logistics and supply chains. The research will focus on robust and resilient supply chains and how defense procurement is conducted to ensure material availability. Job Responsibilities The researcher is expected to contribute to the field by planning and conducting research activities and disseminating results at conferences and in scientific publications in collaboration with other researchers in the field. The research project will include studies of official documents and in-depth interviews, which sometimes need to be conducted in Swedish. Research comprises approximately 80% of working time. Job responsibilities also include participation in other activities within the scope of the Swedish National Defence College's military program, as well as supporting work with subject development, primarily within the sub-area. Additionally, it includes contributing to cooperation and developing contacts with the Swedish Armed Forces, other agencies, companies, other educational institutions, countries, and organizations relevant to the development of the research field. Qualification Requirements We are seeking a researcher who has completed a doctoral degree or holds a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree. For this position, the following assessment criteria apply in priority order: Doctoral degree in the field of economics/logistics/supply chain management, Doctoral degree in another related subject/subject area. The applicant must at minimum understand Swedish in speech and writing. Within two years, the applicant must be able to teach and communicate in Swedish. The Employment The employment is time-limited for 9 months on a full-time basis with the possibility of extension if the Swedish National Defence College receives increased project financing. Work Location: Stockholm Employment at the Swedish National Defence College may require a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). The employment may also include war placement.
