Investigations, analyses, and teamwork As an insurance investigator, you handle applications for assistance compensation. In this role, you meet people who, due to illness or disability, may need help with their basic needs. You conduct qualified investigations and analyses of documentation, primarily medical reports, and assess whether the individual is entitled to compensation for personal assistance. You then submit a proposal for a decision that is made by designated decision-makers. As an insurance investigator, you meet the person in personal meetings, usually by phone, Skype, and in writing, but also in home visits. You are responsible for contacts and collaboration with other actors, such as the municipality, personal representatives, and healthcare services. The work tasks are largely administrative, which includes ongoing documentation and calculations of the number of assistance hours. You are part of a team that plans and distributes work. You actively work to develop your knowledge and share your experiences. As a new employee, you receive thorough introductory training and support from a supervisor. As an insurance investigator, you handle confidential information, which places higher demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have strong security awareness.
