Being Labor Relations Manager at Avesta Municipality is one of the municipality's most strategic HR assignments. The position combines a comprehensive functional responsibility for labor law, negotiations and cooperation with an operational HR consultant role. You will lead the development of the labor law area, create alignment on employer issues, and contribute to developing Avesta Municipality as an employer. Two roles, one shared responsibility As Labor Relations Manager, you hold a comprehensive functional responsibility for the municipality's labor law area. You manage, coordinate, and develop the HR department's labor law processes. The role carries no personnel management responsibility but a clear responsibility for creating alignment, quality, and common working methods. You represent the employer in negotiations and cooperation, provide qualified support to the municipality's leaders and HR colleagues, and contribute to the development of employer issues, wage formation, and working methods. The second part of the assignment consists of the HR consultant role. This means you provide qualified support to one or more operations on employer, labor law, and organizational issues. You are part of the operations' management groups and support leaders in their employer responsibilities. Here strategy meets everyday work. You'll have significant influence to shape and develop the labor law area together with a dedicated HR team. We're looking for you who want to make a difference Through your judgment, leadership, and ability to build trust, you want to work to make a difference in our organization. We're looking for someone with an academic degree in HR, personnel science, or other education that the employer considers equivalent, several years of experience in qualified labor law HR work, and very good knowledge of labor law and collective agreements. Experience from municipal or other politically governed operations is a merit. You need to be confident in the practical application of labor law and experienced in representing the employer in various contexts. You are secure in the employer role and have the courage to make well-founded decisions even when issues are complex or perspectives differ. But what really makes a difference in this role is how you use your expertise, judgment, and ability to build trust.
