There is something special about Avesta! Here you'll find not just traditional crafts and rushing rapids. Here you'll also find determination and courage, drive and faith in the future. It is the strength of our people that makes Avesta unique. Together we are building Avesta's future – do you want to be part of it? 1 position(s). We are now seeking a special education teacher for our student support team. We have clear structures and routines that guide our work, and as a special education teacher with us you will primarily work with: • Assessments of students in need of special support • Direct work with students who have special support needs • Documentation • Coaching and guidance for teachers • Collaboration with teachers, guardians, and other members of the student support team • Participation in and leadership of weekly student support meetings This position is a lead teacher role with a focus on special education responsibilities. Your personal qualities are important to us. You need to have strong commitment and interest in creating the best conditions for students and you should enjoy working with young people. As student support staff, we are where the students are, so you also need to see the value of being an important adult in hallways and between classes. Because we strongly believe in active kindness, you as an adult need to demonstrate this in both words and actions. It is also important that you are communicative and inspiring so that you can bring teachers and students along with you. Being flexible in your approach and having a talent for collaborating with students, guardians, colleagues, and management is also essential. You have a natural ability to build relationships, earn trust, and create a sense of security while acting unpretentiously but purposefully in collaboration with others. Since you will also be working with assessments and documentation, you need to have an aptitude for these tasks and be analytical, organized, and able to work toward the goals we set for students and the school. We are looking for someone who holds a special education teacher certification and has a particular interest in multilingual students. Prior experience is a merit. This position is a temporary replacement role with a permanent employment arrangement and a time-limited lead teacher assignment. We use a probationary employment period. To obtain employment, a criminal record clearance certificate must be provided. Employment Type: Permanent. Duration: Start date: October 1, 2026 or by agreement.
