About the Job Vintergatans HVB is one of Gothenburg City's residential care homes (HVB) that, as of January 1, 2026, is organized under the HVB and Supported Housing unit within the Southwest Social Services Department. Vintergatans HVB was established in 1998. The facility is located in Bergsjön and has space for five youth ages 15-19. Youth are placed primarily under the Social Services Act (SoL), but in some cases also under the Act with Special Provisions for the Care of Young People (LVU), always based on environmental factors and not on behavioral grounds. Youth may come to us from their families, other institutions, emergency care homes, or interrupted foster care placements. The length of placement is assessed individually based on the youth's needs and can range from months to over a year. We use a systemic/narrative approach and work using social pedagogy methods. Our goal is to provide a safe environment with stable adults and a structured daily routine. We systematically use BBiC's documentation for monitoring and implementing care plans, and we place great emphasis on youth's schoolwork and maintain close contact with their teachers. With this background, our ambition is to meet needs and adapt our methods based on the individual and assignment. We are now seeking a manager for our team who will work alongside a coordinator, five care workers, and a number of part-time substitute staff. You will be responsible for treatment in the facility and share leadership with the coordinator, who is responsible for scheduling and operational and financial matters related to personnel. As manager, you are responsible for the daily operations of Vintergatans HVB, such as admissions and discharges, as well as for method guidance and development. In your role, you will supervise the care workers at Vintergatans HVB. You will collaborate with our clients on the government side, with other actors involved with our placed youth, and with other managers within the unit. As manager at Vintergatans HVB, you are responsible for the facility's operations and have significant opportunities to influence content and design. As manager, you are also responsible for the facility's quality and content in relation to our supervisory authority, IVO. As manager, you will have external supervision with other managers/supervisors in the unit. You will work primarily daytime hours but may, when needed, also work certain evenings. About You We are seeking someone with a degree in social work or other university-level education that the employer considers equivalent. You are well-versed in the legislation governing services within the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act with Special Provisions for the Care of Young People (LVU). We consider it an asset if you have experience in a supervisory position and/or work experience from residential care homes (HVB). As a person, you are flexible and have excellent collaboration skills both internally and externally. You have a view of people that reflects a conviction in people's capacity and ability to change. You take initiative and responsibility to move work forward, whether working alone or with others. You have the ability to make independent decisions within the scope of your assignment. You use time effectively and work systematically, organized, and methodically. Furthermore, you ensure that work is completed and follow up on results. Within your area of responsibility, you can withstand pressure from others, set boundaries, and say no when needed. Our selection and interview process may begin before the application deadline, so we warmly invite you to submit your application today. Other Information To comply with GDPR requirements and enable good communication with our applicants, we ask that you submit your application digitally and not by email or mail.
