Preventive Social Worker for the First-Line Social Services Unit

WORK TASKS As a preventive social worker, you will work in close collaboration with schools in Katrineholms Municipality, and a large portion of your work time will be spent at the schools. With an expansion of the operation, you will provide support to all schools in the municipality. The assignment also includes broadening preventive work and further strengthening collaboration with both the police and civil society organizations. Internal collaboration is of great importance because we represent the social services' combined mission and need to act in a coordinated manner to provide children, young people, and their families with the right support at the right time. Work at the schools consists of public authority functions, support conversations with children and young people, and support for their parents. You will work closely with the social services reception, SSPF coordinators, and field assistants, and maintain close collaboration with school principals, educators, and school counselors. The role includes providing early support to children, young people, and their families so they quickly gain access to services without needs assessment, IUB. As part of the preventive assignment, you will also work as SSPF coordinators, which means you are responsible for collaboration in cases of early concern about norm-breaking behavior. During school breaks, when ordinary operations slow down, you support the social services reception and participate in fieldwork as needed together with youth field workers. Work is primarily scheduled during daytime, but evening shifts occur. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience with public authority functions within individual and family care focused on children and young people. You have good knowledge of current legislation. Furthermore, the position requires that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. It is a merit if you also have experience with treatment work within individual and family care directed toward children and young people. It is desirable that you have experience working according to Signs of Safety, which is an approach we have chosen to work with throughout the Children and Young People Department. A category B driver's license for manual transmission is required as you will use a car in your work. As a person, you are secure and stable with good self-awareness. You have the ability to shift focus with short notice and adjust your planning, as situations can change quickly. Since you will serve as a link between social services and schools, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate with others and that you are outgoing and socially active in professional relationships. You are expected to work independently and flexibly based on the needs of children and young people within the framework of the social services law. Salary form: Monthly salary. Type of employment: Permanent position. Duration: Permanent, start: November 2, 2026. According to agreement, ends: May 1, 2027.
