Welcome to apply for a rewarding and important position as a Parent Support Specialist for Partille's preschools The new Social Services Act requires more targeted and preventive work to counteract disadvantageous living conditions for children and young people. A particular focus is on reaching children and families who may need support but do not seek help themselves. The Social and Employment Administration in Partille Municipality has identified through mapping the need to work in arenas where children and young people spend time, such as preschools. Against this background, a position as Parent Support Specialist has been established with funding from a city grant linked to the law's transition. The Parent Support Specialist is employed by the Social and Employment Administration and is organizationally attached to the Family Law Unit. Target group: - Parents of children at four of Partille Municipality's preschools and one open preschool. - Educators at these preschools for consultative support purposes. The Parent Support Specialist's mission is to conduct outreach and preventive work by: • Being present in preschool activities according to schedule to create safety and accessibility. • Disseminating information about social services and municipal support measures. • Offering individual conversations with parents when needed. • Conducting parent support group conversations when needed. • Identifying children and families in need of support through relationship-building work. • Participating in parent meetings, theme days, and training sessions. • Providing educators with knowledge about social services work, risk and protective factors. • Supporting educators in contact with hard-to-reach parents. • Facilitating cooperation between social services and preschools. • Managing Språkfams parent circles together with a colleague. • Contributing to continuous development of activities as well as evaluation and data collection. • Participating in the working group for the activity. In this role, you have a clear focus on early identification of children and parents in need of support, which leads to promoting and preventing psychosocial illness and norm-breaking behavior in the long term. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a social worker with knowledge of children's needs and development. We would appreciate it if you have experience from activities where you have supported and guided parents through outreach and preventive work and treatment assignments within social services' open activities. It is also an advantage if you have knowledge of different social service activities and have worked with authority exercises concerning children and young people. As a person, you are stable and calm and maintain a realistic perspective even in pressured situations. You have a professional and service-oriented approach, are responsive, empathetic, and communicate clearly. You have good analytical abilities, work in a structured and organized manner, and plan and complete your tasks efficiently. The unit employs nine family law secretaries, one family law methodology support officer, and a social worker linked to the Family Center. All employees have a shared unit manager. The Family Law is a merged and common family law for the municipalities of Härryda, Mölndal, and Partille since October 1, 2021. Partille is the host municipality, which means that staff are employed by Partille Municipality and work on behalf of all three municipalities regarding family law matters. Welcome to us!
