Lerum Municipality is known for its beautiful natural settings with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects significant growth in the coming years. Lerum is only 20 minutes travel from Gothenburg and is currently facing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, from schools to housing. The municipality is committed to ensuring good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate. Dagens Samhälle named Lerum the winner in the major city municipalities category (2025) - an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities in areas such as schools, healthcare and care, economics, culture and recreation, attractiveness, business, and future factors such as digitalization and civil preparedness. Lerum is indeed a Super Municipality! Just over six years ago, Lerum Municipality established a joint organization through collaboration between the Support and Care Sector and the Education Sector – Platform Lerum. The unit is tasked with contributing to the development of the municipality's work with early interventions and strengthening social sustainability through promotional and preventive measures for children, young people, and families. With the goal of promoting improved health and completed education, Platform Lerum works in close collaboration with preschools, schools, social services, and healthcare to create coordinated support for children, young people, and their families. Within the unit are family centers, field secretaries, Presence Teams, parent/family support workers, and SSPF. The unit's services are provided without means testing. Since some parent support workers will be on leave for studies and other assignments, we are now seeking a parent/family support worker for our parent support team. This position is primarily a temporary contract until 2027-06-30. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a parent/family support worker, you will meet parents and families who seek support. This means you will meet with parents and families for individual support, both short-term and longer-term interventions. This may also include leading parenting classes and facilitating SIP meetings as an independent meeting facilitator. You will collaborate with other actors, both internally and externally, such as schools, social services, and healthcare. We believe in close collaboration with multiple actors to prevent and promote work around the best interests of the child. You will work both individually and in teams. QUALIFICATIONS You have a degree in social work or social pedagogy (the 3-year program) or another higher education qualification that the employer finds equivalent. It is an advantage if you have experience from family support work, if you are trained as a parent group facilitator, and have further education in psychosocial and systemic work such as Network Work, Security Circles, Family check up, FFT (Functional Family Therapy), or step 1 training. We would appreciate it if you have experience from social services authority work. We place great emphasis on you being responsible, unpretentious, and having a good ability to establish collaboration with families, parents, children, young people, and internal/external partners as well as colleagues.
