We have approximately 650 students, and we work in teams that collaborate closely to promote each student's social and academic development. In addition to our regular classes, we also have three resource school classes from preschool through grade 9. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking someone who is a strong classroom leader and wants to provide students with a safe and stimulating start to their educational journey. You should be professionally competent, engaged, and responsible, and a trusted person in our resource school class. Your assignment includes planning and conducting instruction in all subjects with a clear focus on early language, reading, and writing instruction. You adapt instruction through differentiated methods to meet each student's needs and continuously monitor their development using your strong assessment skills. Together with other pedagogues on the team, you are responsible for creating and developing a safe and secure environment that encourages and challenges students toward activity, learning, and responsibility. You want to drive pedagogical development and use current research that you can implement in your work. You plan and follow up on instruction, analyze and assess the results. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone who is: • A licensed teacher with a focus on grades 1-3 • Experience with special instruction groups and/or resource school classes • Solid knowledge and experience in early language, reading, and writing instruction • Ability to conduct differentiated instruction and strong assessment skills • Independent and strong classroom leader • Ability to see the bigger picture and collaborate with both recreational services and the school's student health services • Ability to take responsibility for the entire assignment and drive student development forward, both academically and socially Employment Type: Permanent employment.
