Finspång Municipality operates three public libraries. The main library is located in Finspång city center, and we have two branch libraries, one in Hällestad and one in Rejmyre. The primary work location for this position is at the main library, but assignments at the branch libraries may also occur.

The Role
As a library assistant, you and your colleagues are an important service function for the library operations, with responsibility for the daily activities at the library. To provide our visitors and users with quality interactions, it is important that you have good customer service skills and demonstrate interest, willingness, and ability to help others. An important part of your work is to guide and provide good service to our visitors and to contribute to making the library environment accessible and welcoming.
It is essential that you are interested in people and literature and that you can contribute to flexible working methods and collaboration within the work group. This position also includes promoting our services and activities through social media, digital event calendars, and printed materials such as posters, flyers, brochures, etc.
Your work tasks will include
Working at the information desk with the lending of books and other media. Informing visitors about the library's offerings, including services available through the library's digital services.
You will work on administrative tasks such as shelving and organizing media, which requires that you are careful and have good organizational skills.
You will work on information and promotion of the library's services and program activities, both digitally and in print, through social media, digital event calendars, newsletters, information brochures, etc.
Who are you?
You are skilled at meeting and communicating with visitors, colleagues, and partners.
We see that you place the visitor at the center, that you have good knowledge of literature that allows you to inspire others to read. As a person, you are clear, communicative, structured, and engaged, while also being careful and enjoying following routines.
A high school diploma is required. Experience working at a public library and in communication and marketing is a merit. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English and high IT competency.

We offer a full-time temporary position (100 percent) during a parental leave absence, with the possibility of extension. The position includes work on evenings and weekends according to schedule.
You will primarily work at the main library, but assignments may also occur at our branch libraries and within our outreach activities. Since the work involves travel between different work locations, you must have a Class B driver's license.
