About the job If you are driven by work with multiple contact points and have experience at sea, you now have the opportunity to work as a Ship Inspector in the Maritime Supervision section at the Swedish Transport Agency. In this role, you will conduct oversight through inspections and audits, as well as operational controls of ships and ports. In addition, you will also oversee safety, environment and working conditions on ships and shipping companies. The work as a Ship Inspector is very outward-facing and involves extensive contacts with the maritime and shipbuilding industry, as well as related business sectors both in Sweden and abroad. This means you will travel both within and outside the country. The work includes on-call duty. Read more about what it's like to work at the Swedish Transport Agency You will Inspect and audit Swedish and foreign ships Review drawings and technical documentation Conduct new construction/reconstruction and re-flagging inspections Conduct port state and coastal state controls Perform on-call duty with emergency response for incidents and accidents. You must have A degree in marine engineering with senior experience at sea as a certified ship officer with authority according to STCW III/2; without restrictions on area of operation, or a degree in civil engineering in shipbuilding technology with several years of experience in ship construction and shipyard industry. good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English b-class driving license. It is advantageous if you also have Experience from technical inspection work on ships at shipyards/reconstruction/new construction Experience from work at classification societies or shipyard industry Experience from case management/administrative handling within a public authority.
