As a vessel electrician at Trafikverket, you contribute to making everyday life easier for residents and businesses throughout Sweden. You do this by helping build the infrastructure of the future. Work Tasks Maritime transportation in Sweden is undergoing major changes. At Trafikverket Färjerederiet, we are implementing a transformation toward electrification, climate adaptation, automation, and digitalization that will affect our 70 ferries, 750 employees, and our 22 million passengers. Trafikverket Färjerederiet wants to lead the way and drive development toward more sustainable and smart solutions. According to our long-term plan, Vision 45, Trafikverket Färjerederiet is working to achieve carbon-neutral ferry operations by 2045. We are electrifying our ferries, and Vision 45 also opens up opportunities to use smart digital solutions to reach our climate goals. To achieve these goals, we are now hiring a vessel electrician for our new repair and maintenance team. The team will consist of vessel electricians and marine technicians and will operate from the watch houses in Vaxholm or on Ljusterö. In the future, on-call work may become relevant. As a vessel electrician, you are responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems onboard our vessels and land facilities. Your role is crucial in ensuring safe and efficient operation of both propulsion systems, navigation equipment, and other electrical consumers onboard. The repair and maintenance team is an important capability enhancement to efficiently conduct our operations under all conditions. Work tasks that may be relevant in this role include: Troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic faults, both planned and emergency Maintenance work according to established maintenance programs, including inspections, measurements, and replacement of wear parts Installation and commissioning of electrical systems and components onboard and ashore, including power supply, lighting, communication, and navigation systems Documenting completed work in maintenance systems Work on low-voltage AC/DC systems in accordance with applicable safety regulations Collaboration with others in the repair and maintenance team and crew to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime Monitoring energy consumption and support in optimizing electrical system efficiency Compliance with safety and environmental regulations according to national requirements Qualifications You need to thrive in a role with great responsibility, where you are flexible, self-directed, and have strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with colleagues, managers, and external individuals/groups. You are goal-oriented and solution-focused, driven by development and continuous improvement. You have high integrity and an ethical and moral approach. You are thorough and have high safety awareness. You are flexible and handle stress well during acute operational disruptions. The position also places great demands on your communication skills. We are looking for someone who has electrical technical education or equivalent at upper secondary or post-secondary level, preferably with a maritime focus has at least two to three years of experience working as an electrician has knowledge of power systems, generators, control systems, frequency converters, and troubleshooting equipment has a driver's license for a personal vehicle has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written has good knowledge of English, both spoken and written It is a merit if you have general electrical competence have experience with automation systems Other Information Please attach your CV as it will form the basis for the initial selection in this process.
