About the Operation The Pharmacy Unit Dalarna works across the region to manage and develop pharmaceutical issues. The unit provides pharmaceutical supply to hospital operations, delivers care-based pharmaceutical services, and provides support on strategic pharmaceutical matters. Here, employees use their pharmaceutical expertise fully and work for patient benefit within the same organization as other healthcare personnel. The operation consists of approximately 50 employees and comprises three sections—the Pharmaceutical Supply department, the Pharmacy Department, and a strategic group. Our employees are highly engaged, collectively possess broad pharmaceutical expertise, and regularly help each other solve emerging issues. The Pharmacy Department's mission is primarily to provide care-based pharmaceutical services as support to healthcare. Employees work at various clinics and form an important collegial network for each other. The Pharmacy Department staffs seven inpatient units with ward pharmacists who participate daily in the ward's pharmaceutical management work. The Pharmacy Department is now recruiting a pharmacy technician or pharmacist for a permanent position as a ward pharmacist managing medications on an inpatient ward at Falun Hospital. Depending on interest and experience, regional work with medication management procedures and quality review may also be relevant. Work Tasks Daily work tasks are designed together with the clinic and include, for example: Preparing medications for infusion and injection, such as antibiotics Preparing medications for discharge-ready patients, such as dose packaging Providing knowledge support to colleagues/nursing staff on medication management issues Quality work with medication management Training and information initiatives for nursing staff The position also includes participating in the clinic's quality management by developing procedures and instructions for medication management. Optimizing inventory and ordering medications based on the clinic's needs and for cost efficiency are central parts of the position. Work on the ward is independent, while close collaboration and continuous dialogue with pharmaceutical colleagues at the Pharmacy Unit is important. The primary work location is Falun, and travel within and outside the region may occur. Qualifications Requirements: Licensed pharmacy technician or pharmacist with strong interest in working in a healthcare environment The position requires good communication skills in Swedish, both verbally and in writing You are proficient with MS Office programs Merits: Good knowledge of how medications are handled in healthcare and experience with extemporaneous preparation or medication preparation Previous work in healthcare or hospital pharmacy The Pharmacy Department provides internal introductory training. We adapt the training based on your previous experience. Practical exercises are included, such as medication preparation with an experienced colleague. You need to be open to new working methods and tasks. You identify improvement opportunities in your daily work and have a genuine interest in development work and quality issues. You need to take initiative easily, be self-directed, and have a good sense of service. Making new contacts should come naturally to you.
