The Foster Care Unit consists of twelve employees divided into two groups: child secretaries and foster care secretaries. We are now expanding the unit with one additional foster care secretary. The unit also includes two method supervisors and a special education specialist. We have different expertise and backgrounds, but what we have in common is that we are committed and have a strong child-centered perspective. We work closely together, are unpretentious, have fun at work, and provide each other with great collegial support. We are an administration and a unit that continuously works on development to make things as good as possible for those we are here to serve.
As an employee of Mölndal City, you are offered flexible working hours, external supervision, and a wellness allowance.

WORK TASKS
As a foster care secretary, you are responsible for recruiting, investigating, training, and supervising emergency foster homes and foster families, as well as contact persons and contact families. Part of the work involves matching a child's needs with an appropriate foster home. The child's social secretary and foster care secretary work as a team around the placed children. The work is independent, but requires close collaboration with colleagues in the unit as well as with other internal and external partners.
In Mölndal, we use a strength-based approach, including Signs of Safety. This means we have a strong focus on network placements and network work. We also work with "Parents from a Distance," which means that the children's biological parents should be as involved as possible in the lives of the placed children.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is educated as a social worker. You should have knowledge of the laws and regulations governing child welfare services and be able to adapt your work methods based on these. It is desirable that you have experience with foster care work and training in investigating foster homes, such as Kälvesten or similar. It is meritorious if you have worked with children and young people, and we would like to see that you have experience with exercising authority.
We want you to have the ability to work independently while being able to collaborate easily with both colleagues and management. We hope you are solution-oriented and creative, especially regarding the task of finding foster homes and matching children with families. At the same time, we hope you are secure and stable and can independently support foster families in their role.
