Are you a confident and relationship-building social worker ready to take on new challenges? The Support and Treatment Unit is now seeking a family therapist specializing in enhanced support for foster families. We warmly welcome your application!
The Support and Treatment Unit is part of the Employment, Skills and Welfare Administration. The unit currently has nine family therapists and one family support coordinator, four people in the school social work team, one family counselor, and three curators at the family center.
This position is located in family support, where we work with individually tailored support services based on assignments and goals from social services, open services without formal decisions, and group activities for parents and children. Assignments may be rooted in relationship and communication problems within families, difficulties of parents/caregivers in understanding, responding to and guiding their children, or behavioral problems in children and young people. The position also involves offering enhanced support as a time-limited intensive intervention to foster families to strengthen their care capacity and prevent family breakdown.
In this position, we offer flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely to contribute to a better work-life balance. Other benefits include wellness allowances and access to our engaged staff club that creates community and energy throughout the year. Flexible vacation options are also available. You will work in brand new centrally located premises where we operate on an activity-based basis.

WORK TASKS
As a family therapist, you work by building relationships with the families you meet through trust and confidence to create the conditions for change. Family therapy is conducted on assignment from investigating social workers with defined change goals or on assignment without a formal support decision.
You conduct your work in the environments deemed most appropriate, which may be in meeting rooms, in the homes of our families, or other settings. As our new colleague, you feel both desire and inspiration to participate in the continuous development of our work with families and their networks.
You develop an implementation plan for the assignment and work based on evidence- and knowledge-based methods, a systems-theory perspective, and other methods adapted to families' needs.
Collaboration is an important part of the assignment as there is often a need for services from and coordination with various other actors. Involving the family's network is a natural part of your work to increase children's security and create conditions for ongoing support to families. Interventions may include assessments, observations, supervised contact, and individual support conversations.
The work includes documentation in the form of creating implementation plans and ongoing record keeping.
