Job Description
We are now seeking a Family Therapist for SiS Youth Facility Långanäs. The target group you will work with is non-compulsory school age boys aged 16–21. Family Therapists at SiS work with families during critical times. Through conversations, home visits, and relationship work, they strengthen bonds between youth and parents and create conditions for change. Working as a Family Therapist at SiS means meeting families when relationships are strained and youth are in difficult situations. In this work, Family Therapists provide support and serve as catalysts for opening doors to new paths forward.
As a Family Therapist, you ensure good cooperation with the youth's family and network to create stability during placement. Throughout the placement, you maintain close collaboration with social services and other key stakeholders to establish a stable foundation after placement. Family Therapists work flexibly regarding digital communication, in-person meetings with families, and when necessary in their homes. Work hours are scheduled during daytime, but may occasionally include work outside regular hours in connection with youth home visits or transitions from the youth facility.
As a Family Therapist, you will play a significant role in the treatment team at the youth facility and actively participate in treatment interventions and their evaluation.

Qualifications
You should have the following:
Relevant university degree such as social work or other behavioral science education (at least 180 credits) or equivalent experience/knowledge that the employer deems equivalent.
It is advantageous to have corresponding "step 1" competence in psychotherapy (family therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy focus) and/or experience with family therapy work.
As a Family Therapist, you need the ability to inspire confidence and hope in families. Be courageous and willing to discuss difficult matters while identifying the positive strengths within the family. You must be able to distinguish between personal and private matters to build trust with the Family Therapist, the youth facility, and SiS. Listen, communicate, and handle conflicts constructively. Have the ability to remain motivated and effective despite setbacks and disappointments. Be able to work until projects are completed or results are achieved. It is important that as a Family Therapist you have the ability to build good collaborations and view teamwork as the most fundamental aspect of care. It is advantageous to have previously worked with youth and their families/networks.

Employment:
This is a permanent full-time position beginning with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
Number of open positions: Two.
