Welcome to us at the Family Support Unit. We currently consist of nine family therapists, two parental advisors, two community counselors, and a unit manager. The workplace is centrally located in Stockholm with Garnisonen as our main office. What We Offer Come work with us! Your Role You will join a group of experienced family therapists with extensive experience and broad expertise, which leads to collegial learning and knowledge exchange. As a family therapist, you work with children and their parents on behalf of social services, but also with families who seek support independently through services without needs assessment. This assignment is undergoing continuous development based on changes introduced by the new Social Services Act. As a family therapist, you start from the child's needs and strive to adapt support in a systemic and solution-focused way. Working as a family therapist is both rewarding and challenging, while making a difference for those we serve. Your work tasks mainly consist of conversations with children and parents depending on needs and how the assignment is structured. The interventions should promote children's development and strengthen the parental role. We provide family therapy at our offices in Garnisonen, but also in families' homes. In assessed benefit interventions, you plan, implement, and document the work based on the assignment from social services. In your role as a family therapist, you collaborate with various actors and work closely with social workers and other contacts around the child and family. This position is a temporary assignment until spring 2027. Your Competence and Experience For this position, we are looking for you who has: - a degree in social work - experience working with family therapy - knowledge of the Social Services Act and BBIC structure (Child's Needs in Focus) It is an advantage if you have: - basic psychotherapy training (level 1) - training in manual-based methods such as Safer Children, Functional Family Therapy, On the Right Track, Comet, ABC. We are looking for someone who is relationship-building and demonstrates good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. You work in a structured way by planning and organizing work efficiently. To succeed in the role of family therapist, you need to communicate well with children, parents, their networks, and officials. You have a holistic perspective and consider the bigger picture in your actions and decisions. You are goal- and results-oriented and are guided by this in prioritizations and planning. As a person, you are confident, enjoy challenges, and easily work both independently and in groups. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. For this role, you need to present a criminal record extract that you order from the Police website for a potential interview.
