We work on behalf of social services and serve adolescents who need support in their psychosocial and academic development, as well as their guardians.
Our operational model consists of three integrated components: individual treatment, family counseling, and resource school. Family counseling plays a central role in our work, which is why we are now seeking a family counselor who wants to contribute to creating sustainable change for young people and their families.
We are organized in multiprofessional teams with family counselors, youth counselors, and educators. Together, the team creates conditions for change and development based on the needs of the young person and their family.
Magelungen has a systemic foundation and a mentalizing approach. Over the years, our operations have developed broad experience and integrated theories and methods that are relevant for our target group.
About the Position
As a family counselor, you work together with the young person, their family, and other professionals to strengthen relationships, make resources visible, and support the young person's social, emotional, and academic development.
The role is varied and meaningful. Through daily work, ongoing conversations with the young person and guardians, and collaboration in various forums, you contribute to change and development based on established treatment and educational goals.
The work is based on a systemic perspective, where the family is seen as part of a larger context. The focus is on relationships within the family and the interaction between the family and other contexts surrounding the young person.
You work closely with the family and are responsible for making their perspective, needs, and resources visible, utilized, and strengthened. You contribute to planning, implementing, and following up on interventions in a structured and coordinated manner, with a clear treatment focus.
In the role, you also participate in the operation's quality assurance, competency development, and ongoing developmental work. Together with your colleagues, you develop work methods and create the best possible conditions for sustainable change for young people and their families.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with an academic degree as a social worker or behavioral scientist and previous experience with psychosocial treatment work. Basic psychotherapy training, previously called Level 1, is an advantage. Experience with family change-focused work and working from a systemic and mentalizing approach is also advantageous. You need solid knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities, trauma, and mental health issues.

We seek someone who shares our systemic and salutogenic approach. In working with young people and families, respectful interaction is central, as is the ability to make visible and strengthen their resources, competencies, and possibilities for change.
The work requires strong self-awareness and an open, curious, and exploratory approach. Since treatment interventions are conducted in close collaboration with several different stakeholders, you need well-developed collaboration skills and the ability to create trusting relationships with young people, guardians, colleagues, and external partners.
You are clear and professional in your communication, both verbally and in writing. You take responsibility for your assignment and manage your mandate in a secure and judicious manner. At the same time, you are responsive and solution-oriented and enjoy working with others to find new ways forward.
The role requires flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain calm, structure, and focus even in demanding situations.

Employment Terms
The position is a permanent full-time appointment starting by agreement. We apply a six-month probationary period.
