We are now implementing changes to ensure that we can continue to offer good help and support to our citizens. Examples of changes include the introduction of primary and secondary social services to better handle different types of cases and provide more tailored services.

The role of family counselor with us
As a family counselor, you will meet children, young people, and their parents in close collaboration. We have good collegial support and a welcoming climate where we collaborate and help each other. Working as a family counselor in secondary social services gives you a unique opportunity to work closely with social workers since you are part of the same unit, share common methods, and have the same supervisor, with the aim of being able to offer support to children and families quickly and with high quality. The implementation of this new way of working is ongoing and you have good opportunities to influence its design.
As a family counselor, you have documentation obligations according to the requirements that BBIC licensing entails. In your work, you will have support through regular external supervision, skills development, and methodological support.
Your profile

We are looking for you who have:
- a degree as a social worker or other higher education that the employer deems equivalent
- experience of psychosocial treatment work directed at children and young people and their families
- a B driver's license
It is an asset if you have:
- further education in treatment work directed at children and families

Family counselors in our primary and secondary social services are tasked with offering more preventive and accessible social work and providing support and treatment services to children and young people ages 0–20 and their families. We work both according to assistance decisions and interventions without assistance and with group activities for children whose parents have substance abuse issues, mental health problems, or domestic violence. We also have parental support conversations, family conversations, and child conversations.
We collaborate with Culture & Recreation and schools to together provide each child coordinated early activities. We have a network team that offers network meetings to strengthen the individual's network, and we work with visitation support for children who need it. We also work with youth services and mediation.

We offer a permanent full-time employment with entry date by agreement.
The work involves need-driven working hours outside office hours.
