As field veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, businesses, and government agencies. We provide community-essential services for emergency animal care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. Distriktsveterinärerna is part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES For our clinic in Stenungsund, we are looking for a field veterinarian interested in working broadly in our field operations. As a veterinarian, you will participate in on-call work. During on-call duties, emergency care for all types of animals occurs, such as wound injuries, colic, and deliveries. When you join us as a new employee, we ensure you have a smooth start regarding on-call duties, and you will have the opportunity to accompany the types of visits you may feel uncertain about. During regular clinic hours, we handle everything from lameness investigations, internal medicine examinations, dental treatments, castrations, and inspections on horses. Within farm animals, we largely work with emergency care as well as castrations, dehorning, and sampling. At our small animal clinic, we perform investigations, surgeries, and dental treatments. Our equine clinic is well-equipped with access to endoscopy/gastroscopy, X-ray, ultrasound, shock wave therapy, and objective movement analysis systems for horses (Lameness locator and Sleip). In addition to our clinic X-ray, we also have a direct digital X-ray used in field operations and an ultrasound for field use. There are blood analysis machines in a small lab. At our clinic, we continuously work on the work environment. This includes three of us sharing weekend on-call duties. On weekdays, you start your on-call shift at 12:00, and the next day you have 3 hours of administration scheduled to complete your records. Once finished, you are done for the day. We also try to get help from our nurses regarding vehicle restocking and cleaning. QUALIFICATIONS You are a veterinarian with Swedish veterinary credentials. We are looking for someone interested in working in the field with a mixed practice and varying tasks. There are great opportunities to develop and expand our field operations regarding farm animals, so if you are a driven and engaged person with an interest in ruminants, that is a merit! As a person, you are service-oriented and self-directed, but you also enjoy working as a team and have good collaboration skills. Additionally, you have good computer skills and a Class B driver's license. We place great importance on your personal qualities. Distriktsveterinärerna has a thoroughly developed hygiene policy for care hygiene that we find important to follow. Selection and interviews are ongoing. Welcome to apply! Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment type: Permanent position. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-12-01 By agreement. Working hours: Scheduled. We care about our employees. Therefore, we give all employees at Distriktsveterinärerna the opportunity to benefit from various perks. Some examples are 28-35 days of vacation depending on your age, salary exchange, wellness allowance, and occupational health services. For you as a parent, we offer good conditions to find a good balance between work and family life, including parental leave supplements and the opportunity to reduce your working hours until your child is twelve years old. We strive for diversity among our employees. Our working language is Swedish, and our services require that you speak and write Swedish fluently. We normally apply a 6-month probationary period. In preparing for the recruitment process, Distriktsveterinärerna has taken a position on recruitment channels and marketing.
