Field Assistant Temporary Position in Leksands Municipality

Job Responsibilities In your role as a field assistant, you will work proactively and build relationships with young people ages 12-19, both during day and evening hours. You work preventatively and create a sense of security. You will work proactively by conducting outreach in schools and community spaces where young people gather. You will also conduct classroom-based work on various topics and need to feel comfortable speaking to large groups. You collaborate with schools, youth centers, police, social services, and others working with young people in the municipality and in neighboring municipalities. The assignment also includes speaking with parents. You guide young people for preventative purposes and to promote good mental health. Part of the work hours are scheduled for evenings according to a set schedule. The temporary position is full-time from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension. Your Profile Competencies and experience you need: Be educated as a social worker, social pedagogue, behavioral scientist, teacher, or have another education that the employer deems equivalent. Have experience with outreach work with young people or other social work with young people. Have good knowledge of youth issues, risk and protective factors, mental health, socially destructive behavior, drugs, and their various harmful effects. Have good collaboration skills and see the benefits of working in a team. Meritorious Experience speaking to large groups. Previous experience working with networking and group activities. Good knowledge of risk and protective factors regarding children and young people. Experience with government work involving children and young people. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, as you will work in young people's environments and build trusting relationships to be an additional adult that young people can talk to and receive help and support from. Trusting relationships are an important part of working as a field assistant as we want to work to prevent young people from falling into mental health problems, alcohol and drug dependency, criminality, or getting stuck in other destructive patterns.
