Do you want to help shape the future of railways through central Gothenburg? Geomechanics Sweden AB is now seeking experienced geotechnical engineers for one of Sweden's most renowned infrastructure projects. Here you will have a central expert role in a long-term assignment, with technically challenging geotechnical structures in Gothenburg clay. Westlink – approximately eight kilometers of double-track railway for commuter and regional trains, of which more than six kilometers run in tunnel under central Gothenburg. The project includes three new underground stations at Gothenburg Central, Haga, and Korsvägen, and connects railway tracks north and south of the city so that trains do not need to turn at Gothenburg Central. Phase Central is expected to open for traffic in 2026, while phases Haga and Korsvägen are completed 2029–2032. Pile Grove – new sidings for local and regional trains in Mölndal, to relieve tracks around Gothenburg Central. Production start 2026, complete 2028/2029. Sävenäs – conversion of Sävenäs marshalling yard into a safer and more functional facility for the Swedish freight transport system, including electrification of the Fjällbo tracks. The role primarily involves being a technical reviewer and geotechnical support for projects within the Westlink division. Your responsibilities Technically review temporary and permanent geotechnical structures such as sheet piling, piling, soil reinforcement, embankment slopes, and cut slopes. Provide expert support to the construction management during the execution phase. Monitor controls during the execution phase related to questions that arise in production. Who are we looking for? The assignment comprises a team of up to five people, and we are currently seeking several competency profiles: Senior Technical Reviewer Relevant university education with geotechnical focus and at least 15 years of experience in geotechnics. Technical reviewer in geotechnics for road or railway projects in the past five years, on assignments exceeding 1 billion SEK. Documented experience reviewing and assessing FEM calculations for soft clay in assignments exceeding 500 Mkr. Documented experience with geotechnical investigation assignments for soft clay in assignments exceeding 50 Mkr. Documented experience as responsible geotechnical engineer for deep excavations, at least 15 m, in soft clay. Construction Site Support / Production Specialist Relevant university education with geotechnical focus and at least 15 years of experience in geotechnics. At least 10 years of documented experience from construction projects in the building phase. Experience with production issues regarding soil and foundation in projects with soft clay, including excavations deeper than 10 m and temporary support structures in assignments of at least 250 Mkr. Other team members We are also happy to receive applications of interest from you if you: Have relevant university education with geotechnical focus. Have at least 7 years of experience in geotechnics. Have conducted control analyses and calculations related to excavations and soft clay. Additional merits Experience with underwater excavation, at least 5 m, during construction in infrastructure projects in major city environments. Experience as technical reviewer of at least one complex infrastructure project in a major city environment, with a scope of at least 5 billion SEK. Location Gothenburg Does this sound like you?
