Part-Time Student Computer Lab Technician

About the Job To ensure the function and quality of Linköping University's (LiU's) nearly two thousand student computer workstations located in 70 different labs, regular reviews are conducted. In your role as a student assistant in computer labs, you will work with maintaining the university's digital learning environments and supporting the university's students with computer lab-related matters. Your work tasks may include: Rounding of our computer labs. Serving as a contact point between students and the IT-Digitalization Department. General support, on-site and remotely. Troubleshooting on clients and systems. Installation of new equipment. Ongoing maintenance of the computer fleet and major maintenance efforts during term breaks. The work involves service to other students and takes place in collaboration with several other IT technicians within the Digitalization Department. Working hours may be scheduled in the evenings and on weekends. Peak work periods occur during teaching-free periods. About You We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with other students and is studying in an educational program at Linköping University. You are thorough, self-motivated, and have good collaboration skills. You can fluently express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. You have an interest in IT and a willingness to learn more. It is important that you have good practical skills, possibly through previous work experience. The work can be physically demanding, so good physical fitness is a requirement. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working with computers. Your Future Workplace You will work at Digital Resources in the Digitalization Department, which is responsible for, among other things, our digital learning environments at Linköping University's various campuses. Students are LiU's most important resource, and you will be part of a team of students who, under supervision, work to maintain, improve, and create inspiring digital study environments. The need may vary during the academic year and may continue through August 2027. 1-6 positions. The placement is either at Campus Valla or Campus Norrköping. Start Date By mutual agreement. Salary Hourly wage according to local agreement for student assistants.
