You should be a reliable and loyal person who enjoys having a varied schedule, some day shifts & some awake night shifts per month. Do you also have any form of experience in care and nursing, whether from work life or private life? Maybe you are newly educated or a student? Do you have the possibility to stay with me for at least one year? If so, read on! It is difficult for me to summarize the role of my personal assistant and everything it entails. This is because personal assistance is personal and is based on individual circumstances and needs. At the same time, my life is just as diverse as yours in terms of feelings, interests and activities. To give you some clues, my interests vary depending on the season. I enjoy everything from swimming in my pool, cooking & running with my Marathon wheelchair to museums, concerts and the gym to give you some clues. Although it is said to be difficult to summarize, here is an explanation of who I am looking for… A position as a personal assistant is varied but with me you can think that your role broadly stems from these three parts; 1. You help me with all basic needs with great respect for privacy and dignity. 2. You are my physical support which means it is an advantage for you if you yourself care about your health and enjoy exercising in your free time. 3. You are my driving force in everyday life and together with me and your colleague are responsible for planning activities and following routines. These three parts of your professional role should be permeated by you being kind, empathetic and communicative because that is how collaboration works best. I myself am approximately 25 years old, my team is young, everyone is approximately 20–30 years old. I want to live as active and social a life as possible, and even though I cannot run on my feet, I roll forward in the races I participate in. It is important that you are active and share my interests. I want to have as active a life as possible based on my life situation! My life can be described as a roller coaster - some days I have a lot of energy, other days I am in great need of rest and recreation. My epilepsy is complex and you will learn everything you need to know during the introduction, it is not a requirement but it is meritorious if you have experience with personal assistance services. However, you need to have a good understanding of what your professional role entails. Flexibility is important to be able to adapt the days based on my needs. My assistants always come well-rested, patient and give of themselves regardless of what circumstances or obstacles I encounter in everyday life. I am looking for you who think the same way and do not regard me as your patient. I require high work ethic which for you as an applicant means that you are reliable and treat me, your colleagues and your profession with respect. You are also calm and understand that your efforts are life-determining for me, understanding of relationship building and variation in my existence creates the best conditions for both of us. Personal assistance means living a meaningful life with self-determination which you contribute to through interaction. The professional role of personal assistant means helping another person to live their life, which includes being able to leave your own feelings and opinions outside of work, being interested in learning new ways of communicating and at the same time having an understanding that I, like you, have a range of emotions that vary. We place great importance on personal suitability. Developing a relationship does not happen overnight so I am looking for you who really want to do the best for me by getting to know me and understand that long-term commitment is the key to success. Previous experience is not a requirement although it is of course a merit, regardless, understanding of the professional role is what weighs most heavily. Being able to work in a structured and organized manner is essential to create security and predictability for me, moreover I value you who are proactive and can work creatively and motivatingly together with me. Below are some practical conditions for the position: · Start date by agreement, but no later than September. You start with an introductory schedule and are then offered your own schedule. I am granted assistance around the clock, but you never work 24-hour shifts but it is important to know that you are awake during the night. You have a good understanding and insight into what it means to reverse your sleep schedule and be able to sleep during the day, to come alert and well-rested to me regardless of work time. If you do not have previous experience with night work, you are of course also welcome to apply, just remember that a night job does not mean your cycle becomes 24 hours. · Your shifts with me can be full days 08.00-20.00, mornings 5–7 h and evenings 5–6 h. The awake night shifts are 12 hours, 20.00–08.00. · The introduction always starts with day shifts with me. This way we get to know each other properly and you learn as much as possible about my life. It is also nice and important that you get to know my other friends (assistants) so that everyone can work together. · Any wishes I want you to specify already in your application, thank you! · I unfortunately cannot employ pet dander allergics or tobacco users (including substitutes such as white snus and e-cigarettes). · Fluent command of Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement, as is swimming ability.
