About the job As a respite care worker, you are there for the child and base your activities on what the child enjoys doing at home. A respite care worker is there for parents/guardians of children with disabilities who sometimes need respite care. This allows them to participate in their own activities, spend time with other children or rest. As a respite care worker, you work in the individual's home or nearby area. You temporarily take over care responsibilities from relatives. The respite care worker does not take responsibility for siblings. Respite care should be provided as a regular service, but also in unforeseen situations. Your profile As a respite care worker, you need to have personal maturity and a genuine interest in meeting other people in their daily lives. It is important that you can be the safe, playful respite care worker that the role requires. You should be attentive, flexible, and clear. You should be able to work according to other people's needs and wishes and be able to distinguish that from your own needs and values. Knowledge of or experience with disabilities is a merit. Before employment, you must provide a valid certificate from the criminal record register. Scope of employment: According to LSS decision, the scope can vary in the number of hours per month depending on the decision the customer has. Form of employment: Contract position Terms of employment: For this role, the starting salary is normally between 23,800-28,000 kr depending on experience and competence.
