Your Responsibilities The Prosecutor's Office is looking for you to take on a central role in crime prevention. As a prosecutor, you will apply legal precedent in theory and practice with significant independent responsibility and in collaboration with others. As an extra prosecutor, you will work with all aspects of criminal cases that arise in a general prosecutor's chamber. You will lead preliminary investigations, make decisions on prosecution matters, and prosecute cases in court. Your Qualities and Qualifications We are looking for someone who has Swedish citizenship a Nordic law degree a notarial certification from a district court or administrative court experience from other qualified legal work for at least two years after your notarial service, primarily within criminal law. This primarily refers to work as a court of appeal assessor, attorney, or other legal experience working with criminal cases. As a person, we want you to have a strong interest in criminal and procedural law be legally skilled have the ability to cooperate and lead others be driven, able to organize and prioritize your work, and make independent decisions be stable and have good judgment have good analytical skills and the ability to think critically have good communication skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The Application Process Employment as an extra prosecutor is a special fixed-term position or a merits-based position of at least twelve months before you can receive exemption to become permanently employed as a chamber prosecutor. The position is placed at one of Stockholm's four general prosecutor's chambers: South Prosecutor's Chamber, City Prosecutor's Chamber, Suburban Prosecutor's Chamber, or West Suburban Prosecutor's Chamber. If you proceed to an interview, you will have the opportunity to express your preference for which chamber you would like to be placed in if hired. Prior to an employment offer, the Prosecutor's Office may conduct registry checks in the suspicion register and criminal record register. The registry check is conducted on the final candidate. Tests may be included in the recruitment process. Interviews are expected to be held weeks 39-42. If the applicant selected for the position holds an employment at the Economic Crimes Authority or within Sweden's courts, a collectively agreed fixed-term position (so-called merits-based position) will be applied. The Prosecutor's Office is a standby agency. Upon employment, you may be assigned to war placement at the Prosecutor's Office.
