As a Development Engineer, you will be part of the Development Unit at the City Planning Department. The City Planning Department is responsible for overarching strategic issues in urban planning, including comprehensive planning, development, detailed planning and local strategic issues. WORK TASKS With us you get the opportunity to follow Alingsås' journey as a growth municipality. Alingsås has unique conditions for sustainable urban planning. Your main task is to lead development projects from early stage to completion and follow-up, with full responsibility for legal, technical and economic matters. As a project manager, you lead a project team with different competencies and have overall responsibility for schedule, budget, quality and communication. You are also responsible for developing methodology and strategy for land allocations and implementing these within the projects you work with. The role includes developing action alternatives, making decisions on measures and clearly communicating project status to stakeholders. You are responsible for preparing decision-making materials for the political level, reporting to steering groups and monitoring project progress, finances and goal fulfillment. As a Development Engineer, you will also work with various types of implementation issues, land strategic issues and other issues within the real estate legal area. The assignment also includes being involved in development work and being part of the work team and contributing to a good working environment in the workplace. Your assignment can to some extent be adapted based on your background, competence and areas of interest. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a civil or university engineering degree in urban construction, surveying or other relevant education that is deemed equivalent to meet the assignment. You have a strong interest in urban construction issues and experience in urban planning and/or real estate development, as well as good knowledge of the laws and regulations governing physical planning. As a Development Engineer, you are accustomed to working in a structured and independent manner. You plan, follow up and deliver results of high quality. You have a talent for seeing opportunities, adapt to changed conditions and contribute with creativity and innovation in your work. The role requires initiative, good collaboration and communication skills, and a solution-oriented approach. You are open to new perspectives and motivated by finding smart ways forward in complex issues. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Employment form: Permanent employment.
