Expert in International Operations Control Function (Sundbyberg)
At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of our time's major societal issues – migration. In total, we have approximately 6,000 employees here, and we have an unusually important mission! The Swedish Migration Agency's international section is now seeking experts for the international units' control function to contribute to the agency's knowledge building regarding abuse and crime with a focus on geographic risks. The control function is currently linked to international unit 3 with the aim of becoming an independent unit. About the Control Function The control function at the international units is part of the National Operations Division and contributes to the agency's knowledge building regarding preventing and countering abuse, security threats, welfare crime, and serious organized crime. The function provides information and mapping of risks, trends, and methods related to different countries and regions in the world. Work is conducted in close collaboration with other parts of the agency and migration operations at international authorities. Work Responsibilities As an expert, you work as part of a team that, based on the agency's needs, collects, processes, and presents information needed in the agency's case review, as well as in the broader work of preventing and countering abuse. Work responsibilities include: - Conduct country-specific structured mapping and other information gathering from abroad - Follow up on tips and indications of abuse linked to specific countries or regions - Support the Swedish Migration Agency's other control organization and operational activities with knowledge that can prevent and stop misuse of migration processes - Develop working methods related to country-specific risks of abuse and crime Who Are You? The role also requires that you can plan, prioritize, and make well-considered decisions even in complex situations. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. In our work as civil servants, high standards are also placed on judgment and strong awareness of security and confidentiality. You Have - University degree of at least 180 credits with a legal, social science, or behavioral science focus, or other education combined with relevant and current experience - Several years of current experience working with information gathering, investigation, and analysis within government operations - Current experience writing and presenting reports - Experience with international assignments - Very good communication skills and express yourself well orally and in writing in Swedish and English - Swedish citizenship It Is Meritorious If You Have - Experience working with control and abuse issues - Experience in network building – nationally and internationally - Good knowledge in migration issues and the Swedish Migration Agency's mission, operations, and processes - Knowledge of languages in addition to Swedish and English Information - Employment type: Permanent with probation - Working hours: Office hours - Location: Stockholm, Norrköping, Gothenburg, or Malmö - Start date: As soon as possible according to agreement - Individual salary setting is applied - The position involves travel both nationally and internationally.
