Expert in Overseas Operations Control Function (Malmö)

The Swedish Migration Agency's Overseas Section is now recruiting experts for the overseas units' control function to contribute to the agency's knowledge development regarding abuse and crime with a focus on geographic risks. The control function is currently linked to overseas unit 3 with the aim of becoming an independent unit. About the Control Function The control function at the overseas units is part of the National Operations Division and contributes to the agency's knowledge development regarding the prevention and counteraction of abuse, security threats, welfare crimes, and serious organized crime. The function provides information and assessments of risks, trends, and modus operandi related to various countries and regions worldwide. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other parts of the agency and migration operations at overseas authorities. Responsibilities As an expert, you will work as part of a team that collects, processes, and presents information based on the agency's needs, which is necessary for the agency's case processing, as well as in the broader work of preventing and counteracting abuse. Your responsibilities include, among others: - Conducting country-specific structured assessments and other information gathering from abroad - Following up on tips and indications of abuse related to specific countries or regions - Supporting the Migration Agency's other control organization and operational activities with knowledge that can prevent and hinder abuse of migration processes - Developing methods related to country-specific risks for abuse and crime Who Are You? You have an easy time analyzing complex information, can identify patterns, evaluate information from different sources, and convert your analyses into well-founded assessments and decision-making documents. The role also requires you to plan, prioritize, and make well-considered decisions even in complex situations. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. In our work as civil servants, high standards are also set for judgment and strong security and confidentiality awareness. You Have - Academic education of at least 180 credits with legal, social, or behavioral science focus, or other education combined with relevant and current experience - Several years of current experience working with information gathering, investigation, and analysis within government operations - Current experience writing and presenting reports - Experience with overseas assignments - Excellent communication skills and express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English - Swedish citizenship It Is Advantageous If You Have - Experience working with control and abuse issues - Experience with network building – nationally and internationally - Good knowledge of migration issues and the Migration Agency's mission, operations, and processes - Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English Information Employment Type: Permanent with probation period Working Hours: Office hours Location: Stockholm, Norrköping, Gothenburg, or Malmö Start Date: As soon as possible by agreement Individual salary setting applies. The position involves travel both nationally and internationally. As assessments will be conducted partly abroad, official travel may be required lasting from a few weeks to a couple of months. Security vetting with registry check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will precede the employment decision, which is why Swedish citizenship is required for this position.
