Expert for Overseas Operations Control Function

The Swedish Migration Agency's overseas section is now seeking experts for the overseas units' control function to contribute to the agency's knowledge development regarding abuse and crime with a focus on geographic risks. The control function is currently linked to overseas unit 3 with the aim of becoming an independent unit. About the Control Function The control function at the overseas units is part of the National Operations Division and contributes to the agency's knowledge development regarding prevention and counteracting abuse, security threats, welfare crimes, and serious organized crime. The function provides information and mappings of risks, trends, and modus operandi linked to different countries and regions around the world. The work is conducted in close collaboration with other parts of the agency and migration activities at overseas government agencies. Job Responsibilities As an expert, you work as part of a team that, based on the agency's needs, collects, processes, and presents information necessary for the agency's case review, as well as in the broader work of preventing and counteracting abuse. Job responsibilities include, among other things: - Conduct country-specific structured mappings and other information gathering from abroad - Follow up on tips and indications of abuse linked to specific countries or regions - Support the Migration Agency's other control organizations and operational activities with knowledge that can prevent and stop misuse of migration processes - Develop approaches linked to country-specific risks of abuse and crime Who Are You? You easily analyze complex information, can identify patterns, evaluate information from different sources, and translate your analyses into well-founded assessments and decision support. The role also requires that you can plan, prioritize, and make well-considered decisions even in complex situations. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. In our work as civil servants, high standards are also placed on judgment and a strong security and confidentiality awareness. You Have - Academic education of at least 180 ECTS credits with legal, social science, or behavioral science orientation, or other education combined with relevant and current experience - Multiple years of current experience working with information gathering, investigation, and analysis within government operations - Current experience writing and presenting reports - Experience with overseas assignments - Very good communication skills and express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English - Swedish citizenship It Is Advantageous If You Have - Experience working with control and abuse issues - Experience with network building – nationally and internationally - Good knowledge of migration issues and the Migration Agency's mission, operations, and processes - Knowledge of languages in addition to Swedish and English Information Employment Form: Permanent position with probation Working Hours: Office hours Location: Stockholm, Norrköping, Gothenburg, or Malmö Start Date: As soon as possible by agreement We apply individual salary setting. The position involves travel both nationally and internationally. As mappings will partially take place abroad, service trips may be required lasting from a few weeks to a couple of months. A security clearance with criminal record check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will precede the employment decision, which is why Swedish citizenship is required for this position.
