About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce reoffending – to break the cycle of crime. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and inmate transport. The Management's Office serves as support for the management's work and is responsible for agency-wide coordination and governance. The Management Support Section is responsible for administration, expert support, materials, preparation, and coordination of matters concerning management. The section is also responsible for contacts with the Government Offices, quality assurance of decision-making processes, agency-wide environmental analysis, organizational development, and other strategic assignments. The work is conducted in close collaboration with other parts of headquarters. Job Description As an expert, you will contribute to creating the conditions for management's work by coordinating and following up on processes that support governance, management, and decision-making. In this role, you are responsible for planning, preparation, message formulation, quality assurance, and preparation of materials for the management's and office's various commitments and decisions. You will also participate in travel and meetings, primarily within Sweden. You are also responsible for coordinating contacts with the Government Offices at the official level. The assignment is broad and includes, when needed, investigation and analysis of operational matters, participation in agency-wide projects, and preparation of texts and responses to consultations. Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to the continued development of support for management and the agency's governance during a time when the Swedish Prison and Probation Service is undergoing significant expansion. We are looking for someone who has: • An academic degree in, for example, political science, economics, law, criminology, or another relevant field • Documented experience of working in a support capacity to a management function within a politically governed organization • Documented experience of preparing and processing written materials of high quality • Good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office • Excellent communication skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish • Excellent communication skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in English It is also beneficial to have: • A higher degree in one of the above areas • Experience of working in the public sector or a state authority in the public administration and its decision-making processes • Experience of strategic research or analytical work • Knowledge of AI and how it can be used in government authorities.
