Would you like to be part of developing how the Swedish Migration Agency works with personal data management and data protection? At the Swedish Migration Agency, you will have a central expert role where you contribute to ensuring that personal data is handled in a legally secure, sustainable, and operationally adapted manner. You work at the intersection of law, information management, and digital development, and help ensure that privacy and data protection perspectives become a natural part of the agency's development. We are now seeking an Expert in Personal Data Management for the Strategy and Information Governance section within the Digitalization and Development Department (DUA). With us, you will work with current societal issues that are affected by what happens in our environment. Issues that matter and engage. You will be placed within the Strategy and Information Governance section of the Digitalization and Development Department and work operationally close to specialist functions including law, information management, information security, and digitalization. In this role, you have overarching expert responsibility for personal data management on behalf of the agency (data controller). The focus is on the agency's internal processing of personal data and how privacy and data protection perspectives are implemented in practice in the agency's operational development and digitalization. You provide qualified support on issues related to personal data processing, privacy protection, and information-related risks, and contribute to strengthening the agency's capacity in this area. Work Tasks As an expert in personal data management, you work strategically and operationally close to develop the agency's capacity in data protection and privacy. You collaborate with multiple specialist functions and ensure that the data protection perspective is integrated into development and digitalization initiatives. Your main work tasks Participate in developing work methods, guidelines, and support materials for personal data management and privacy protection. Coordinate the agency's process for reporting personal data incidents to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY). Actively participate in the Digitalization and Development Department's collaboration with the agency's data protection officer. Coordinate and support work related to data registers, impact assessments, and other data protection-related activities. Identify and analyze personal data-related risks associated with personal data processing. Participate in development initiatives and ensure that privacy and data protection perspectives are considered early in change processes and digital development. Work closely with legal, information security, information governance, architecture, and operational development teams to create sustainable and operationally adapted solutions. Monitor developments in the data protection field and contribute with environmental monitoring and expert support. Who Are You? We are looking for someone who enjoys an expert role where you can combine strategic work, consulting, and operational development with close collaboration with different parts of the organization. You are driven by creating structure, clarity, and sustainable work methods within personal data management and data protection. You have the ability to translate regulations and complex requirements into practical operational support and can balance operational benefit, privacy protection, and digital development in your assessments and recommendations. As a person, you are analytical, communicative, and proactive. You have a natural ability to build trust and engagement and can explain complex issues in a clear and pedagogical way. In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high awareness of security and confidentiality. You have Relevant university or higher education (minimum 180 credits) in, for example, law, information management, data protection, or other relevant education. Multiple years of experience working with personal data management, data protection, or information management. Very good knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related regulations. Experience working operationally close with consulting, coordination, or development work in this area. Very good communication skills and express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English. It is meritorious if you have Experience working in the public sector or other socially important activities. Experience with impact assessments, data registers, or risk assessments related to personal data. Experience developing guidelines, support materials, or training initiatives in the data protection field. Experience supporting development or digitalization initiatives from a data protection and privacy perspective. Information Placement: The position is placed at one of the Swedish Migration Agency's main offices: Norrköping or Malmö Employment form: Permanent employment with a six-month probationary period. Start date: By agreement. Working hours: Full-time, office hours. Remote work: Opportunity for some remote work exists based on operational needs and conditions.
