We are now recruiting several case officers About the job As a case officer at one of the CSO units, you will be part of a dynamic group of colleagues who manage support to civil society organizations. You will, among other things, review and assess applications, prepare decision-making documents, conduct project follow-ups, and maintain dialogue with various actors in development cooperation. The activities include support through both Swedish and international civil society organizations as well as direct support to civil society in developing countries. Through your work, you contribute to promoting democracy, human rights, and human security, and to strengthening organizations' capacity and conditions. You will also participate in and contribute to the unit's learning and methodology development. You will work at Sida's office in Risne Sundbyberg. The position is placed in the Global Department, which brings together global strategy and intervention management and works on the basis of Sida's various thematic areas. Work tasks The role includes the following main work tasks: Manage interventions including assessment of applications, follow-up and analysis of interventions and dialogue with cooperation partners Use and develop relevant methods and approaches to support civil society including partners' capacity development, results management and aid effectiveness. Prepare documentation and conduct dialogue at different levels and with different actors, including other donors. Coordinate groups and processes in the unit. When necessary, be responsible for contacts with internal and external actors, such as foreign missions and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs as well as the business sector and research community Other work tasks in the unit and department. Qualification requirements Education Academic degree in social sciences, economics or related field. Languages Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing Work experience and knowledge Many years of documented experience in international development cooperation, including experience of work in developing countries Documented experience in case management within development cooperation, including work with budgets and financial reporting. Documented experience of working with or in civil society organizations. Functional competencies/abilities: For this role, you need to: Be able to lead yourself and take responsibility for your own development Be good at collaboration and building trusting relationships Contribute to new thinking and innovation Be able to handle resistance, be flexible and solution-focused Have the ability to engage in dialogue and create consensus Be able to contribute with and absorb knowledge and evidence For this role, it is a merit if you Experience in managing support to actors in difficult contexts Experience in policy and methodology development regarding civil society and civil society support Experience in working on issues related to democracy, human freedoms and rights, rule of law principles, gender equality, free market and property rights, accountability, tolerance, anti-corruption and/or peace and security, free market, property rights and trade. Experience with innovative interventions in development cooperation. Broad experience working in government agencies, private or multilateral actors. Language skills in French, Spanish, Arabic or other languages relevant to Sida Good to know The positions are permanent positions with commencement in August 2026. A probationary period applies.
