About the Role Do you want to work with advanced aircraft engines and help develop tomorrow's propulsion systems? We're now looking for a performance engineer to join an engaged team working with both today's and tomorrow's aircraft engines. You'll become part of the Performance department, which works with propulsion systems and gas turbine technology – primarily focused on the RM12/RM16 engines in the JAS 39 Gripen, but also stationary gas turbines and future engine concepts. Here, analysis, systems understanding, and technology development are combined in an environment where your expertise truly makes a difference. Your Role In this position, you'll work across the entire chain of engine performance – from analysis and modeling to testing and concept development. You will, among other things: Analyze aircraft engine performance and operational limits Work with systems modeling and concept studies Evaluate data from flight and engine tests Contribute to the development of next-generation engine concepts Support customers and users with technical expertise Participate in the development of methodologies, tools, and working approaches The role offers the opportunity to work both close to operational technology and in early concept phases – where tomorrow's solutions are shaped. We're Looking for You We believe you are an engineer driven by understanding how complex systems actually work. You have: Master's degree in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or similar At least 3 years of relevant experience Good understanding of jet engines/gas turbines and aerodynamics Experience with systems modeling or technical analysis Good communication skills in Swedish and English Meritorious Experience from the aviation or defense industry Programming/scripting (e.g., Python, Matlab, C++, Fortran) Experience with gas turbine simulation tools (e.g., Gasturb, NPSS, Proosis) To thrive in this role, we believe you are: Curious and deeply interested in technology Analytical with strong systems understanding Collaboration-oriented and communicative Confident in taking responsibility and driving your work forward You feel comfortable in the space between theory and reality – where models meet test data and actual engine performance. This position requires that you undergo and receive approval according to applicable security clearance regulations at any given time.
