Experienced environmental consultant in contaminated land in Stockholm
Viken Miljökonsult AB is expanding with two experienced environmental consultants specializing in contaminated land to their Stockholm office.
About the role
Viken Miljökonsult works with projects financed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency in various phases and large development projects concerning the management and remediation of contaminated land. The company currently works on environmental issues through several long-term contracts with both public clients and private actors. The work includes investigations for public clients, major development projects in the Stockholm area, and assignments for private actors and businesses throughout Sweden.
As an environmental consultant at Viken, you will be part of a team focused on contaminated land in soil, water, sediment, and bedrock. The role involves both case management and project management combined with the opportunity for fieldwork. Examples of assignments include environmental technical soil investigations including sampling, risk assessments, remediation studies, and environmental support for the remediation of contaminated areas.
We are looking for someone who wants to combine qualified consulting work with some practical fieldwork and who has the drive to be part of developing a growing operation together with experienced consultants. Based on your background and development in the company, the role will include contacts with clients, colleagues, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. The work involves case management, project management, and the opportunity to conduct sampling of soil, water, sediment, and other relevant materials. Everything happens at a development pace and in an environment where you can feel secure.
The position is located in Stockholm and is a hybrid role.
Your background
In addition to a strong interest in environmental issues, we see that you have relevant scientific education at upper secondary or university level in geology, soil science, geoscience, environmental science, or equivalent. For example, you could have an educational background as a civil engineer in environmental and water engineering or similar specialization.
You have several years of experience in contaminated land, master professional Swedish in speech and writing, have normal computer skills (MS Office), and possess a B-category driving license.
It is advantageous if you have experience with project management in contaminated land.
We also see that you are engaged, solution-oriented, structured, flexible, collaborative, and humble in your work. Since communication is central to the role, both internally and externally, it is important that you can build trust in dialogue with clients, colleagues, stakeholders, and authorities.
Requirements
Relevant scientific education in geology, soil science, geoscience, environmental science, or equivalent
Several years of experience in contaminated land
Normal computer skills (MS Office)
Professional Swedish in speech and writing
B-category driving license
