You know operations. You know the process. Now we're looking for you to come develop the next step with us.
After a few years in the industry, you know what it takes for a combined heat and power plant to function. You know how a boiler behaves, how the process fits together, and when something isn't quite right.
Now we're looking for you who wants to use that experience in an operation where you get to be close to the technology, close to your colleagues, and where your expertise really makes a difference.
For the combined heat and power plant in Strängnäs, we are now seeking an experienced operations technician who wants to become part of our team and help develop our operation forward.
You'll have an important role in a local combined heat and power operation
In Strängnäs, we produce district heating for customers in the municipality, electricity to the power grid, and steam for nearby industries. We work with reclaimed wood and wood chips as fuel and are an important part of the local energy supply.
We are a smaller operation with approximately 15–20 employees where we work closely together and help each other across our roles. Here there are short decision-making paths and the opportunity to influence how we work.
In recent years, the operation has been in a development phase, and since Solør Bioenergi took over the facility, we have built upon the organization and our working methods. We have strong local roots and continue to develop stable and well-functioning operations for the future.
About the role
As an operations technician, you are an important part of our production. You work in the control room where you monitor and control the process, operate the boiler, and ensure that the plant runs stably and efficiently.
You also work out in the plant with rounds, troubleshooting, and practical tasks together with your colleagues. Because we are a smaller team, we help each other and take shared responsibility for solving both everyday and more urgent situations.
The role includes, among other things:
Operating and monitoring our grate boiler from the control room
Optimizing operations and adjusting parameters based on current operating conditions
Following up operational data and taking action on deviations
Conducting rounds and inspections throughout the plant
Troubleshooting and handling operational disruptions
Contributing your experience to the development of our working methods
Work is conducted in 12-hour shifts according to a rotating schedule, which provides the opportunity for longer consecutive time off.
Who are you?
We believe you are someone who takes pride in getting a plant to run well. You are confident in your professional role and enjoy the combination of technology, problem-solving, and responsibility.
To succeed in the role, you need to have:
Experience with operations work from combined heat and power plants, heating plants, or other process industries
Experience operating boilers and working with process monitoring
Understanding of how different parts of the process affect each other
Ability to work independently and make operational decisions
A humble approach where you enjoy sharing your experience
B-level driver's license
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Experience with grate boilers, reclaimed wood/wood chips, or combined heat and power production with district heating, electricity, or steam is a merit.
Why choose Solør Bioenergi?
Maybe you're happy where you are today but feel you want a greater opportunity to make an impact. Maybe you want to work in an operation where experience is valued and where we have a short path from idea to decision?
With us you get:
Work with a real combined heat and power plant where your experience is needed
Become part of a smaller and cohesive team
Be close to both the technology and the decisions
The opportunity to influence how we develop our working methods
A workplace where people help each other and have fun together
Generous working time reduction
Wellness benefits
Good insurance and employment terms
We're not just looking for someone who can manage operations today, we're looking for a colleague who wants to help build the operation forward with us. With us, you become part of a team where we know each other, help each other, and take shared responsibility for the plant functioning as it should. Here your experience has an important place and you become a person your colleagues can rely on.
