Lund Municipality is facing several major and socially important construction projects in the coming years.
We are now looking for an additional construction contracts lawyer who wants to combine deep legal expertise with a business-oriented and operationally supportive role.
About the role and your responsibilities
As a construction contracts lawyer in the Procurement and Purchasing Unit, you will work closely with procurers and the municipality's clients. You will provide qualified legal support on construction-related matters throughout the entire business cycle – from procurement to implementation and any disputes.
You will provide advice on matters such as contract interpretation, change and additional work, and questions regarding what is actually included in the contract sum. You will work practically with interpretations related to the BSAB system, AMA, and contract documents, and contribute to reducing commercial and legal risks in projects.
An important part of the role is being able to translate complex legal matters into clear, operationally tailored advice. You need to be comfortable in dialogue with different types of stakeholders and be able to adapt your communication accordingly – from project management to leadership level.
You will also contribute in situations where procurements are challenged and provide support in processes together with the procurers.
The role also includes:
Communicating and coordinating construction law issues with other parts of the municipality
Documenting, analyzing, and drawing lessons from cases to develop working methods and business processes
Developing guidelines, checklists, and support materials
Conducting training and contributing to increased expertise in construction law within the organization
Driving improvement initiatives and contributing to the municipality's overall development
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a law degree and substantial experience in construction contracts law. You have practical experience working with construction projects and have good knowledge of the construction industry's standard contracts such as AB 04, ABT 06, and ABK 09.
You also have:
Good experience interpreting contracts, AMA, MER, and the BSAB system
A strong foundation in contract law and experience handling complex commercial matters
Experience with or understanding of legal processes
It is advantageous if you:
Have experience with public procurement and the Public Procurement Act (LOU)
Have worked with construction law in public administration
Have experience independently conducting construction procurements
