The food service unit at Enskede Årsta Vantör district administration is now seeking cooks who want to work on an as-needed basis and contribute to good, nutritious, and sustainable meals for seniors. We're looking for both trained cooks and those with additional expertise in diet and specialized nutrition. Welcome to us The food service unit has been operated in-house within the district administration since March 1st. We prepare approximately 1,600 meal portions daily for elderly care in Enskede Årsta Vantör. Meals are delivered to our care and residential facilities as well as meal boxes to home care clients. We also operate a restaurant where individuals can purchase lunch or meal boxes. With us, meals are an important part of health, quality of life, and sustainable development. Your role As a cook with us, you have an important role in planning, preparing, and quality-assuring meals for seniors. You work with a focus on good, nutritious, and adapted meals based on individual needs. Your responsibilities include preparing meals from scratch, handling specialized diets and texture-modified meals, and contributing to menu planning. You work in accordance with applicable food hygiene regulations, internal controls, and food safety standards. The role also includes handling product deliveries and contributing to maintaining good structure and high quality in daily operations. You collaborate closely with your colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment. We're looking for both cooks who primarily want to work with regular meal preparation and cooks with expertise in diet, specialized nutrition, and adapted meals. Your skills and experience For this role, you need: Secondary education in restaurant and food service with a focus on cooking, vocational training as a cook, or other education that the employer considers equivalent Strong ability to communicate in Swedish both verbally and in writing Ability to work independently and as part of a team It's an advantage if you have: Experience working in large-scale kitchens or public sector operations Experience working with specialized diets and adapted meals Knowledge of nutrition, diet, and dietetics As a person, you're responsible, organized, and have good teamwork skills. You thrive working at a fast pace and have a professional approach to your work. We're looking for someone who is flexible and enjoys contributing where the need is greatest. Since work is offered on an as-needed basis, we'd like you to be flexible with working hours and interested in working extra when the operation needs reinforcement. Other information The employment is a part-time position where work is offered as needed. Working hours may be scheduled on both weekdays and weekends, depending on operational needs. The food service unit is located at Åstorpsringen 28 in Enskededalen. When applying, you'll indicate whether you have expertise or experience in diet, specialized nutrition, and adapted meals. We're looking for both cooks without diet expertise and cooks with diet expertise. Selection and interviews may take place on a rolling basis.
