Unit Manager/Director for Newly Built Children and Youth Residential Home LSS 9:8

In fall 2026/early 2027, we will open the doors to a brand new residential home for children and young adults, LSS 9:8, in Kumla! Requirements for employment are that you have experience with children and youth within the LSS target group, experience as a leader/manager (at least 2 years), and the right education (at least 3.5 years of higher education studies in the field). This is a requirement to hold the license issued by IVO (Inspektionen för vård och omsorg). As unit manager, you are thus the license holder/director for the unit and have full responsibility for personnel, work environment, and budget. Your responsibility includes coaching staff members and providing support in daily operations. You contribute to the development of the organization and keep the needs of the children and young adults in focus. The unit manager is part of the management team and reports to the CEO and quality manager. About You To succeed in this role, we see that you are a confident, calm, and self-directed leader. You should have experience in a leadership role and have worked with children and youth within LSS. You should enjoy working close to operations and collaborating at various levels. Requirements for Application: - Bachelor's or university degree in a relevant field, such as social work or other education that we consider equivalent and that qualifies you to hold a license (IVO) for the relevant operation. - Documented experience with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility within care and welfare. - Documented experience working with the LSS target group. - Documented experience working as a leader/manager. - Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. - Driver's license; business travel will occur. We consider it a merit if you also have: - Experience in a leadership position within LSS 9:8. - Previously held a license as a license holder for LSS 9:8 operations. - Training in and experience working with low-arousal interaction and clarifying pedagogy. - Documented good experience leading through change. - Experience starting up new residential homes. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We conduct background checks and use probationary employment. A basic prerequisite for employment is that IVO approves our application for you to hold the license for the operation. Before employment, you must provide an extract from the suspicion and conviction register.
