Description:

Do you want to lead close to operations, together with engaged staff, and at the same time help develop the future of elder care? We are now seeking two unit managers for our concept residences in Halmstad: Pålsbo elderly residence with the theme "Active Every Day," focused on care and nursing homes (somatic care) and dementia care. Slottsparken elderly residence with the theme "Art and Culture," focused on care and nursing homes and dementia care. Your Responsibilities As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, work environment, and finances. You lead, support, and develop your work team and are responsible for planning, following up on, and improving work methods to ensure that care maintains high quality and is conducted in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations. The role also includes recruitment, staff and salary meetings, work on occupational health and rehabilitation matters, and ensuring competency development in the group. You follow up on deviations and feedback and work systematically to create safe, individually adapted care for residents. You are an important link between different parties, maintain dialogue with families, and report to the area manager. You are part of a management group together with about ten unit managers. At the residences, there are two unit managers with responsibility for different departments, and you work closely together to create a well-functioning and cohesive operation. With us, there are good opportunities to engage in development work and contribute to various projects and collaborations; we welcome managers who want to use their expertise and drive improvements. Your Qualifications You are a leader who takes initiative and drives work forward by creating structure and clarity in operations. You plan and prioritize by seeing the big picture and translating goals into concrete activities. You inspire through being a stable and positive presence, even in challenging situations. As a leader, you enable your employees to succeed by building trust, creating context, and providing conditions for responsibility-taking and development. We place great importance on personal suitability. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in behavioral science or education considered equivalent by the employer. Experience working in the social services sector. B-category driver's license. Meritorious: Management experience with responsibility for operations, personnel, and finances. Experience from the public sector. Experience in authority-related work. Education in social law. Leadership training, such as ML, UL, or equivalent. What We Offer You will work based on trust-based leadership where responsibility, participation, and professional judgment are central. You will become part of a management community with high competence, where support, experience sharing, and shared leadership create good conditions for both development and work satisfaction. We offer a workplace where you get to work close to operations, influence, drive change, and at the same time contribute to a safe and meaningful everyday life for elderly people in Halmstad. If you want to read more about the benefits of being employed by Halmstad Municipality, you can read it here. Other Information Selection work begins when the advertisement period has ended. If you meet the requirements, you will be asked to take tests, followed by a telephone check-in, competency-based interview, and finally a candidate meeting with labor union participation. We always take references from final candidates. Competency interviews are scheduled for Friday week 35 and Monday week 36, followed by a candidate meeting with labor union participation week 36. Selection questions replace a personal letter in this recruitment; we will not place emphasis on reading personal letters. To ensure quality in the recruitment process at Halmstad Municipality and enable good communication with our applicants, we ask you to apply via Grade/Varbi and not via email or paper format. We value the qualities that an even age and gender distribution and ethnic and cultural diversity bring to operations. We therefore welcome applicants who contribute to this. Before employment, you need to show that you have the right to work, which is required under the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EES or Switzerland through a passport, national ID card, or certificate of identity together with an identity document. If you cannot, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. To be eligible for employment, we want you to provide an extract from the criminal record register. Order a register extract now on the police website using your BankID. Open the E-service and order—"Work in homes with elderly people and people with disabilities." The extract will be sent to your mailbox and should be brought in an unopened envelope and presented during recruitment. You also have the option of receiving the extract via your digital mailbox. (The police only send empty extracts digitally. If the extract contains information, the police will send it by regular mail.) We decline all offers of advertising and recruitment assistance in connection with this advertisement. The position is filled provided it is not claimed by surplus personnel. When you work in Halmstad Municipality, you create meaning by shaping, strengthening, and enriching others' everyday lives—whoever you are. With us, collaboration, balance, and the opportunity to develop are important, both as a professional and as a person—we are the workplace where you get more out of life!
