Your Assignment
As a unit manager, you are part of an office within the technology department, whose mission is to provide FRA with the technical systems required for our operations. The department develops, manages, and deploys new systems, provides technical expertise, and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of existing systems.
In your role as unit manager, you lead and develop your unit with responsibility for operations, personnel, budget, and work environment. Your work is guided by the department's processes and established goals, and focuses primarily on the following areas:
Operational Management: Plan and drive your unit's operations with regular follow-up against set goals.
Technical Prerequisites: Develop and maintain routines for technical deliveries in collaboration with strategists and delivery managers, including specification of development environments and tools.
Leadership and Personnel: Take responsibility for your unit's development team, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, and coaching in employee and development conversations.
Competence Development: Ensure long-term competency supply and continuous development within the unit.
Strategic Influence: Participate in the office's management group where you, both independently and together with colleagues, drive development within the office's focus areas.
FRA is in a growth phase, which means that as a unit manager you will work in a changing environment. You will play an active role in both the office and department's business development, which is why we value experience in change management. The role also involves close collaboration with other offices and units within the technology department, as well as other departments within FRA and external contact points when needed.
What You Can Do
We are looking for someone who has:
Academic education in a relevant field, such as system development, radio, electronics, or mechanics. Alternatively, equivalent knowledge obtained in another way.
Experience in a leadership role in a technology development organization, such as line manager, project manager, product owner, scrum master, or equivalent.
B-category driving license.
Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
We consider the following as meriting qualifications:
Experience in a role with personnel responsibility.
Practical knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks, such as SAFe, LeSS, or Lean.
Experience in driving change management.
Industry experience from areas with regulatory requirements, for example defense, automotive, or medical technology.
Experience from technology development in any of the following areas:
Product development of hardware and software in combination.
Radio planning, RF, or telecom.
Mechanical design, workshop services, and installation planning.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approximately 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. Before employment, you will be security vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment includes an obligation to be placed for war mobilization.
