About the Position
As manager of the unit for strategic partnerships and bilateral cooperation, you will lead and develop operations with responsibility for the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration's (FMV) overall bilateral and selected multilateral partnerships. Your mission includes coordinating the agency's international cooperation, including Nordic Defence Cooperation (NORDEFC), Letter of Intent (LoI) six-nation cooperation, and Partnership for Indo-Pacific Industrial Resilience (PIPIR). The unit is also responsible for the agency's protocol function, coordination of participation in overall bilateral international activities, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) work, and support to the National Armaments Director (NAD) function in bilateral international cooperation and multilateral partnerships. The role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and efficient international cooperation.
As manager of the EU and NATO cooperation unit, you are responsible for FMV's overall coordination of work within NATO and the EU. Your mission includes coordinating the agency's participation and work in NATO, the EU, the European Defence Agency (EDA), Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), and EU initiatives and programs. The unit also serves as the national coordination office for the European Defence Fund (EDF), coordinates the agency's work related to the NATO Conference of National Armaments Directors (CNAD), and provides support to the NAD function on overall NATO and EU matters. The role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and efficient work within the agency's NATO and EU cooperation.
Both managerial roles involve operational, personnel, and budget responsibility. You lead, develop, and follow up on the unit's operations while ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with the agency's objectives, regulations, and international commitments. The role also involves creating conditions for employees to achieve operational goals and contribute to the agency's continued development.
The positions are based in Stockholm; travel may occur.
About You
We are seeking someone with a relevant academic degree or other qualifications that the employer deems equivalent. You have completed training in management and leadership. You have experience leading change and development initiatives, as well as international work where international relations and cooperation, and EU and/or NATO matters have been included. You express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
It is an advantage if you have current and relevant management experience where you have successfully led both operations and employees, current experience of qualified work in public administration, an international organization, or other relevant activities. We also view favorably experience from the defense sector or collaboration with FMV, experience managing and coordinating complex issues in a larger organization, and experience working in the Government Offices.
