The Infrastructure and Development Administration is in an exciting phase with many new and ongoing projects while managing existing operations. Within the Technology operations area, the Water and Wastewater Operations Unit is responsible for operating the municipality's water and wastewater network and maintaining the municipality's pump stations, pressure boosters, and operational optimization. About the workplace The Water and Wastewater Operations Unit consists of skilled and experienced water and wastewater technicians, operations engineers, pipe network inspectors, and a coordinator who ensures that daily work is carried out in the best manner. Additionally, there are two other water and wastewater units: Water and Wastewater Facilities and Water and Wastewater Planning. The unit works with emergency repairs, operational optimization, and reinvestment in pump stations and pressure boosters. We also handle filming of the network infrastructure, which becomes the basis for technicians and project groups. All our work is performed on our municipal network, which spans our urban areas, which also means that water and wastewater staff members have on-call duty as part of their position. The unit also participates in developing the municipality's water and wastewater fees and is engaged in our water and wastewater projects, collaborating extensively with the other water and wastewater units. Responsibilities As a unit manager, you have personnel, budget, and operational responsibility for your unit, which currently consists of nine employees, and you ensure that operations meet their goals. A further expansion of two employees on the unit will be needed in the near future. You work actively for the best project and operational economics. You update and revise the unit's procedures to ensure correct quality and delivery. On-call duty may be part of the position. You will actively contribute to the Technology management group, which consists of unit managers within Water and Wastewater, Infrastructure, and Sanitation. You propose efficiency measures and ensure staff competency development and work with strategic workforce planning. You will be part of our active work on our development journey toward a unified and strong water and wastewater service. Qualifications We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in operations or other education that the employer deems relevant. This position also requires experience in management such as team leader, project manager, or operations manager. You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have a valid class B driver's license. We welcome experience working as a manager, financial follow-up, and in a politically governed organization. It is also advantageous if you have experience with operational optimization and knowledge of the Water Services Act. As a leader, you are stable, professional, and have good judgment. You view the pursuit of improvements in a structured way as a natural and obvious part of your work. Through your excellent collaboration skills, you create trusting relationships within the organization. With personal maturity and a responsible approach, you thrive working toward set goals and results and inspire confidence.
