Together we work to accelerate development toward a resource-efficient society – where sustainability, innovation, and social benefit go hand in hand. As Unit Manager for Distribution Operations, you'll continue the sustainable and digital journey that Mälarenergi Water has begun. Your Role As Unit Manager for Operations, you're responsible for ensuring stable and long-term sustainable water and wastewater supply in Västerås, Hallstahammar, and Surahammar. You lead daily operations with a focus on distribution networks, stormwater facilities, and technical installations, with clear responsibility for delivery reliability and quality. Your responsibilities include: • responsibility for the unit's goals, budget, and personnel • planning, prioritizing, and monitoring work • making decisions regarding operational status and incident management • working systematically with risk assessments, safety, and work environment • driving development of working methods for more efficient and sustainable operations You work closely with your team on a daily basis while also being part of the department's management group, contributing to business development and setting the direction forward. The position requires you to shift between day-to-day operations and a more long-term perspective, where you create conditions for stable network operations over time. We're Looking for You Someone who wants to combine operational presence with strategic thinking – who can handle what's happening here and now, while also daring to look ahead and develop both processes and people. Perhaps this is your first management position, where your post-secondary education combined with previous leadership experience gives you a solid foundation to stand on. Here you'll grow in the role, make a real difference, and contribute to a societally important operation in constant development. You have: • post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as civil engineering, roads and water, environment, or water/wastewater technology • experience with operations, maintenance, or project coordination in water/wastewater, industry, or other technical operations • experience leading others • a valid driver's license (category B) • strong ability to communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing, and you're comfortable presenting and having discussions in various contexts To thrive and succeed in this role, we see that you're a structured, results-oriented, and collaborative leader who takes responsibility and drives work forward. You're communicative, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, even to groups. You're decisive and solution-oriented, with the courage to make decisions and handle challenges constructively. Through your leadership, you create engagement, clarity, and strong collaborations – you motivate and develop your team while building strong relationships with colleagues and other departments. You also use digital tools and data naturally as support for monitoring, analysis, and continued business development. Your Colleagues You'll be part of the Water Distribution department, led by a department manager and responsible for ensuring stable and sustainable water and wastewater service distribution. The department is organized into two units – Operations and Corrective Maintenance – that work closely together to ensure both daily functionality and rapid response when needed. Additionally, there's a dedicated team focused on preventive maintenance, which is important for strengthening our long-term operational reliability and developing more proactive working methods. The current unit consists of nine employees with broad expertise and strong commitment to the mission.
