We are now looking for a unit head for the Portfolio Unit – a key role for someone who wants to lead and develop the Swedish Migration Agency's capacity to govern, prioritize and monitor the agency's combined development initiatives.
About the assignment
The Digitalization and Development Department (DUA) drives the development of the Swedish Migration Agency's processes and capabilities through innovation, operational development and digitalization. Through coordinated process management and operational development, we work to increase efficiency, quality and the ability to meet operational and societal needs.
DUA consists of four sections. To the Section for Agency Development, we are now looking for a unit head for the Portfolio Unit.
The Portfolio Unit is responsible for developing and managing the agency's common approach to development, coordinating and monitoring the development portfolio, and ensuring quality and governance in the agency's development initiatives. The unit works closely with operations, IT and management to create conditions for well-founded priorities and efficient implementation of development initiatives.
Responsibilities
As a unit head, you are responsible for operations, staff, budget and work environment for a unit with approximately 15 employees.
You lead and develop the unit's operations and ensure that the assignment is carried out with high quality and good goal fulfillment. The role involves further developing the agency's capabilities in portfolio management, development governance and operational development, as well as creating conditions for strategic prioritization of development initiatives and investments.
You are responsible for leading a qualified operation with many contact points and work closely with both management and operational and development managers within the agency.
As a manager, you create conditions for a developmental work environment where employees are given the opportunity to take responsibility, develop in their roles and contribute to the results of the operation. You utilize employees' competence and commitment and lead through trust, clarity and participation.
You report to the section head and are part of the section's management group. There you actively contribute to the development of operations from a holistic perspective and shared leadership.

You who apply have
Academic education that the employer deems relevant for the position or other education in combination with relevant experience.
Several years of current management experience with responsibility for operations, budget, work environment and employees.
Experience leading and implementing development and change work in a larger and complex organization.
Experience in process management, operational development or development governance at a strategic level.
Experience leading through others and collaborating with multiple different stakeholders and decision levels.
Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English.
It is meritorious if you have
Management experience from a state agency.
Experience with portfolio management or portfolio leadership in a larger organization.
Experience working in the field between operational development, digitalization and IT.
Experience in governance, prioritization or monitoring of development initiatives and investments.
Experience leading specialist operations or knowledge-intensive teams.
Experience with established methods or frameworks in portfolio management, operational development or change management.
