The Social Affairs Department's mission is to meet people's need for security. WORK TASKS
We are looking for someone who wants challenging, developmental and meaningful work. As a unit manager, we expect you to lead the operation towards set goals in a positive and committed manner, with responsibility for finances, personnel, working environment and service quality. You will be part of the management group for special residential facilities and are expected to actively participate in the department's development work. An important part of the work is to help employees grow and develop by increasing opportunities for influence and participation.
In your role as unit manager, you represent the employer and are a good role model. You communicate our core values—Respect, Responsibility and Collaboration—throughout the organization. Your leadership is relationship-building and you trust your employees' commitment and willingness to take responsibility. You utilize and develop your employees' competence and ensure your team is engaged and involved in the operation. Close leadership where you balance management responsibilities, presence in operations with administrative work is an important part of the unit manager role.
QUALIFICATIONS
We would like you to have higher education relevant to the field and which the employer considers suitable for the position. We also expect that you have experience with personnel, finance and operational responsibility, and are familiar with the legislation governing our area of operations. We consider it a merit if you have worked in elderly care and have previous experience in a leadership position.
You are open to change and interested in leading and developing the operation. We see that you are someone who is skilled at motivating, inspiring and developing people. In your role as unit manager, you take on coaching-oriented, close leadership and promote cooperation, influence and participation in daily work at your unit. You easily spread joy of work and help your employees develop and grow. You also maintain close cooperation with your colleagues.
As a person, you have a trustworthy manner and an ability to create good, long-term relationships. You lead and follow up on operations in a methodical way with strong focus on the user and ensure that conditions, requirements and expectations are clear. To thrive in the role, we see that you are confident, self-reliant, strategic and have a good ability to make decisions. Attentiveness and good communication skills are also qualities you should possess.
B-class driver's license is a requirement.
It is a merit if you have knowledge of Finnish, Sámi and/or Meänkieli. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We apply a limited-term management agreement in combination with a permanent employment contract with the municipality.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: Agreed upon, interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis. We may apply a probationary period.
